Synopsis
Teenager Riley's mind headquarters is undergoing a sudden demolition to make room for something entirely unexpected: new Emotions! Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear and Disgust, who’ve long been running a successful operation by all accounts, aren’t sure how to feel when Anxiety shows up. And it looks like she’s not alone.

When it comes to Inside Out 2, it definitely has its high points. It's colorful, funny, and packed with those clever emotional insights that made the first one such a hit. The animation is stunning, and the introduction of new emotions brings an interesting twist to the story. However, I couldn’t help but feel that it was a bit too similar to the original. While the story is touching, it didn’t surprise me as much as I’d hoped, and it lacked some of the emotional depth that made the first film so memorable.
The new emotions they introduced are fun, but they didn’t feel as impactful as the original emotions we connected with. At times, it felt like the movie was playing it safe, sticking to what worked before instead of taking bold new risks.
In the end, Inside Out 2 is a worthy sequel that fans of the first movie will likely enjoy. It’s heartwarming and entertaining, but it doesn’t quite recapture the same magic. It’s a good movie, just not as groundbreaking as the original.

Inside Out 2: Nostalgia with New Faces
I was 12 when the first Inside Out came out, and I still remember watching it in the cinema. It fascinated me as a kid and left me with many questions about the emotions—why were they different genders? Why did other people's emotions match their gender? The trailer for Inside Out 2 was intriguing, and I hoped it would explore more delicate themes, like sexuality, gender, and fitting in.
However, Inside Out 2 mainly focuses on Riley navigating her teenage years (which can be considered as fitting in). It's fun but not as deep as I expected. The new cast members, Maya Hawke, Ayo Edebiri, and especially Adèle Exarchopoulos, were a pleasant surprise. I'm a fan of these actresses and didn't expect to see them here.
The main scene of Anxiety was truly amazing. The way it was portrayed felt incredibly real and was one of the best moments I’ve seen in a while — just wow.
If you're looking for something complex, you might be disappointed. But if you believe animated films should be fun and helpful for kids, Inside Out 2 is perfect for you.

A great Pixar film that surprises us like it hasn't done in a long time, it gives us a great message, and also clearly well advised since it really shows us how anxiety works in our mind, clearly simplified for the understanding of the children's audience.
