Synopsis
Ernest Withers was a Memphis photographer with a studio on Beale Street who shot two million images of Black life in the South throughout the 1950's and 1960's. His photographed portraits of families, weddings and babies, every musician and performer who passed through Memphis, but most significantly, he was the key documenter of the Civil Rights movement.
