Synopsis
A modern action adventure road story where a 17-year-old girl named Suzume helps a mysterious young man close doors from the outer side that are releasing disasters all over in Japan.

One of the most striking things about Suzume is the filmmaker's use of oversaturated colors and light to create a sense of otherworldly beauty in everyday places and happenings. The film also offers a poignant memorialization of the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami.
Despite the heavy subject matter, Suzume never loses its sense of humor, thanks in part to the presence of a three-legged chair that magically transforms into the man Suzume is trying to help.
