You can't exactly say what this movie is about as here we have more than one story line, but definitely it's adorable and emotional drama. There are no antagonist or hero, only an ordinary butler and a housekeeper, their choices and fates. Honour and loyalty in serving to master can't be the purpose of the life same as the marrying for spite and definitely supporting cruel ideas out of a sense of duty is not a good idea. You see the results of wrong choices of multiple characters, but mostly feel the pain and despair of the great actor - Sir Anthony Hopkins who lived this role.
