Synopsis
Jeffrey Dahmer struggles with a difficult family life as a young boy. During his teenage years he slowly transforms, edging closer to the serial killer he was to become.

I would STRONGLY advise against watching this movie.
To premis this, I have watched the Dahmer TV show and thought it was a beautiful and twisted telling of an obviously tragic story. While that TV show was critiqued heavily for “putting Dahmer in a positive light” (which I disagree with) this movie was not, and I think it should have been.
There are no scenes of murder in this movie and for the most part no physical violence displayed by the Dahmer character. Instead they tell the story of a misunderstood boy who was bullied, had no friends, a mentally ill mother, and was a victim of family divorce. The movie seems to be trying to get the audience to feel sympathy for this character while hardly even hinting at the kinda of atrocity’s he committed in his adult life. While I do understand that this movie wanted to focus on Dahmer before he committed his crimes, it entirely misses the concept that this man was a real person who hurt not only his victims but their family’s and the people around him as well.
This movie made me really uncomfortable and quite frankly grossed out about how pitiful they attempted to make this person seem. Please watch the TV show instead or if you can’t handle depicted violence, read an article or listen to podcasts and the testimony’s of the victims family’s from Dahmer trial.

Really enjoyed the cartoon novel giving an inside into his mind however the movie didn’t do it justice.
