Kelvin Harrison Jr. delivers a stunning performance as Bologne, exuding confidence and self-possession despite the challenges he faces. His character's personal journey is emotionally resonant and beautifully portrayed on-screen, thanks in part to the impressive work of the costume and production design teams.
While the historical context of the French Revolution is important in telling this story, it feels like a subplot that's been wedged in, rather than fully developed. Nevertheless some aspects of the plot feel underdeveloped, Harrison's performance alone is enough to make this movie a standout.
