The Last of Us
Synopsis
Twenty years after modern civilization has been destroyed. Joel, a hardened survivor, is hired to smuggle Ellie, a 14-year-old girl, out of an oppressive quarantine zone. What starts as a small job soon becomes a brutal, heartbreaking journey, as they both must traverse the U.S. and depend on each other for survival.

The Last of Us: a Beloved Game
As a big fan of The Last of Us game series, I’ve always felt that the people behind the game were trying to do something groundbreaking, something that would leave a mark on history. Among the incredible team that made this game a masterpiece, Neil Druckmann and Gustavo Santaolalla stand out the most for me. When I heard that these two geniuses would also be involved in the TV series, that was all I needed to know.
I’ll be honest—casting choices didn’t matter much to me, and while some people may scream at the top of the lungs that the choice for Ellie was wrong, it’s not what’s important for me. What truly matters is that after watching the series, I can confidently say that it was really, really good.
If you’re a fan of the games and expect the show to be an exact mirror, you might find yourself disappointed. But if you approach it as a new product, you’ll be pleasantly surprised. The story is compelling, the acting — though different from what I initially expected — grew on me, and the setting was nothing short of amazing. The show feels like a high-budget production, and it shows.
One of the highlights for me, as always, was the music. Gustavo Santaolalla’s score caught me once again, and I could talk for hours about how much I love the music of this franchise. But I’ll spare you that — just trust me, and watch this show with an open mind. It’s worth it.

The story, the acting and the visuals effects were great in the first season. I hope they continue at the same pace in the second season.

The show's creators, have done an excellent job adapting the popular video game for tv, fully capturing the grim reality of the apocalyptic scenario. The chemistry between the main characters, Joel and Ellie, is also a highlight. Ellie's resistance to the fungus that causes the outbreak raises the stakes, adding a sense of urgency to their journey.
