It was just okay. I liked the focus on mental health, and it’s watchable, but the execution didn’t fully draw me in.

I’ve recently read the book and gave it 3,5 stars. I did like the writing style, but something about it, didn’t 100% catch me.
This show however, is one of the few examples of a series/movie adaptation, that is actually better than the source material. This show was so incredibly well done. Everything from the amazing casting, the slow scenes, the cinematography to the music was perfect and I cried multiple times.
Contrary to the book, I actually liked Marianne and Connell and actually wanted them to end up together.
Paul Mescal was absolutely INCREDIBLE in this role. He not only fit the character so well, but his acting was outstanding.
As heartbreaking as this show is, I will definitely rewatch it, if I ever get the chance.
