Synopsis
Having grown sick and tired of his centuries as Dracula's lackey, Renfield finds a new lease on life — and maybe even redemption — when he falls for feisty, perennially angry traffic cop Rebecca Quincy.

I was pleasantly surprised by Renfield, although I didn't have high expectations. I liked the pacing of the movie and the plot twists that made it more interesting and less predictable. I also liked that there was more than one villain in the story and the performance of Nicolás Cage and the charisma of the officer.
On the other hand, there were some things that I didn't like so much. While I know the exaggeration of gore was part of the film's focus, it got to a point where it got awkward. Also, I felt that character development was lacking and the overall story wasn't that great. The protagonist lacked charisma and failed to connect with me as a viewer. Finally, the ending seemed forced and rushed, as if they didn't know how to close the story properly.

Renfield is a horror-comic orgy of gore with any number of bad guys torn to pieces, but it also has poignant moments. The movie presents an unusual spin on vampire lore and mixes classic horror pastiche, workplace black comedy, and action-packed heroic bloodshed style of the 1970s Street Fighter movies.
