An epic film by one of my favorite young directors and screenwriters, Damien Chazelle, that takes us back to the birth of Hollywood, when the magical world of cinema was in the process of transitioning from silent to sound cinema. The director masterfully conveys the atmosphere of changing eras of cinema, flawlessly mixing the stories of some real figures of the industry, collective images and fictional characters, reflecting both the glamor and the dark side of Hollywood. "This is the most magical place in the world!", but unfortunately you always have to pay for success.
"Babylon" impresses with its visual style, a bright, saturated picture that literally breathes life, filled with dynamics, colors and details that immerse the viewer in the turbulent world of Hollywood a century ago. The formation of cinema as an art takes place against the background of large-scale parties, filming and everyday life in Hollywood, which demonstrate both the chaos and beauty of film production of that era, convey the energy and spirit of the times, where luxury and debauchery coexist with the desire for success and fame.
The musical accompaniment, traditionally in Chazelle's films, was created by his close friend Justin Hurwitz and is one of the most important elements of the film. The soundtrack elegantly emphasizes all the emotional moments of the film, adding the necessary rhythm and dynamics. Hurwitz once again proved his talent in creating an unforgettable musical design, which became the hallmark of every film on which he worked as a composer.
The film is not without flaws, sometimes it can seem overloaded, trying to cover too many topics and events, but for people who adore movies (especially movies about movies), such a sincere frank confession of the director's love for the cinema industry is simply fascinating. "Babylon" shows the history of cinema as a boat that sails with the flow of events. Let's make a wish that this journey will be long and rich, and that the boat will never stop sailing.

I recently had the opportunity to watch the movie Babylon, and I want to share my impressions. This film was a real discovery for me, and although I am not new to cinema, this film left a deep mark on my soul.
First of all, I want to note the brilliant work of the director. Each frame is thought out to the smallest detail, and the atmosphere is created so masterfully that the viewer is immersed in the plot from the first seconds and does not let go of a single moment. The characteristic shooting style, unique angles and smooth transition between scenes emphasize the tension and emotional state of the characters. It is clear that the director put his soul into this project, creating not just a movie, but a real work of art.
Speaking of the acting, there are no complaints here either. The main actors, as well as minor characters, were able to convey their roles with such conviction that sometimes it felt as if it was not a movie, but real life. Their emotions, facial expressions, movements - all this creates a feeling of presence in the very epicenter of events. I was especially impressed by Brad Pitt, who played his role with incredible skill, embodying his character to the smallest detail and giving the audience incredible emotional depth.
The script of the film deserves special praise. It is distinguished by a non-standard approach to revealing the topic, unexpected plot twists and deep dialogues. Babylon makes you think about important questions in life, such as the main theme of the film. The characters of the film are not unambiguous, they have their weaknesses, fears and dreams, which makes them even closer to the viewer. This approach adds realism and allows a better understanding of the motives of their actions.
Summing up, I can say that Babylon is a film that deserves the attention of every connoisseur of quality cinema. It leaves a mark in the heart, gives new thoughts and feelings, and also reminds of the importance of such basic human values as the main idea of the film. Definitely recommend watching!
