Interesting to bring the debate of colorism to the center of the story, the film subtly works by showing a social scale among black women that not by mere coincidence are related to this issue of skin tone, even about affective relationships. The photography is beautiful and Tessa and Ruth's performances need to be recognized, they are fantastic. What I missed: I would have liked to have seen a little of Clare's interaction among white people, how she performed this passability.
