Synopsis
Thangka painting master Dunzhu has sacrificed his whole life to making Thangka. Before completing the most beautiful masterwork of his life, he unexpectedly discovers that he will soon go blind. Dunzhu's son has always wanted to be the successor to his father. However, the father is not happy with the son's westernized painting style and decides to go to the boundless grassland to look for his grand master's beloved heir. To his surprise, the grand master's omen appears on a broken-arm young man who knows nothing about painting. Is he really the grand master's heir? Through Thangka, the film depicts the modernization of Tibet as well as the Tibetan's piety and devotion in religion and arts. The marvelous scenery of Tibet makes the film even more enchanting.
