Synopsis

In a hospital on the outskirts of 1920s Los Angeles, an injured stuntman begins to tell a fellow patient, a little girl with a broken arm, a fantastic story about 5 mythical heroes. Thanks to his fractured state of mind and her vivid imagination, the line between fiction and reality starts to blur as the tale advances.

The Fall is one of the most visually stunning movies I have ever seen! It is consistently rated among most beautiful movies ever. It is Tarsem's personal movie, shot in 4 years in more than 20 countries. CGI is minimum, while all of those magnificent places are real locations! The Fall is imaginative and surreal, yet clever and touching. I did not have high expectations in terms of the plot, but after watching, I can assure that this movie is so much more than a visual journey. I highly recommend the Fall to all creative people with vivid imagination just to draw some inspiration. The production/reception story of this film is fascinating and sad (it ended up as a box office flop after cold reception at Toronto Festival). If you prefer real-life movies, the Fall might seem too boring and psychedelic. In this case, just watch the trailer to enjoy the beauty. For others, I don't recommend watching the trailer beforehand!

It is a fantasy / adventure movie that stands out with its visuality rather than plot. Although this genre did not attract my attention, this story, which came out of the subconscious of the characters, kept me on the screen. Especially the naturalness of the little girl's acting was more sympathetic. Although the title of the movie cannot create anything in my mind, "The Fall" is told both metaphorically and literally. I can say that you can understand the movie that much if you can decipher the secret codes. I recommend you to watch.
