Synopsis

The X-Men face their most formidable and powerful foe when one of their own, Jean Grey, starts to spiral out of control. During a rescue mission in outer space, Jean is nearly killed when she's hit by a mysterious cosmic force. Once she returns home, this force not only makes her infinitely more powerful, but far more unstable. The X-Men must now band together to save her soul and battle aliens that want to use Grey's new abilities to rule the galaxy.

As much as I did love X-men series I hated Dark Phoenix. I couldnt help myself comparing the old series with a new wave(or whatever you may call it) of mutants, this was just wrong. First things first: Dear Marvel, we all kind of got the idea that you respect and celebrate women’s empowerment, you can stop now, seriously. It was ok in Avengers Endgame, but now you keep promoting this idea in almost every movie you make. I appreciate the fact that I’m a woman, but I honestly think that those moments don’t work, it makes me roll my eyes each time I see how much more powerful women can be over men. Ok. I got this feeling that I saw a bad version of Captain Marvel, with almost the same style, the same universal creatures appearing, the same effects and even colour modes of main characters. Like, you’ve learned how to turn people to beautiful dust and you decided to use the same effect. It was the same with the glow around Jane and Captain Marvel - something cosmic, with bunch of colour, showing that they’re not from here. But what I find the worst is that you’ve abandoned previous story, ignored such a beautiful series of previous X-Men that it didn’t even make sense anymore. Why would you ruin something that amazing and turn it to dust, as the same effect you were using for past couple of movies. Oh, and to add cherry on top - I felt the effects were so badly executed, you could do a better job on that. And i keep remembering the same old X-Men, could you keep it the same simple? It was a huge disappointment for me, I had high hopes for Dark Phoenix, but I just waisted my time.
