About The Place and chamber cinema ...
So ... in short, I'm a little tired of the Oscars and the nominees ... I'll write muesli about, and now about a really good movie) and no, it's not Black Panther (although I managed to watch it before the premiere), I don't really want to talk about this movie, the Mstyuns will come out there, and back to our pussy ...
About my love for chamber cinema. In general, I often catch myself thinking that although I have no particular sympathy for modern theater, I still really appreciate theatrical genres in cinema. Well, judge for yourself, cinema is primarily a plot and a game. And chamber cinema is nowhere without these things, therefore it comes out (for the most part) with an immersive acting game and an interesting plot that makes you watch what is happening in the same room for 2 hours and not just not get bored, but are also in significant tension. It is for these reasons that I put chamber cinema on my special postulate of love and respect)
And now "The Place" or "Meeting Place" is an Italian remake of the (not very popular but (most likely) worthy) American TV series "Table in the Corner" and the second work I know (a nickname given only by me) of the Italian genius of chamber cinema - Paolo Genovese ...
If you do not go into details and do not draw out one example with a detailed explanation and interpretation, but take it in general, then "Place" directly feeds us from a spoon with experiences concerning the moral and moral aspects of all mankind and specifically your person. Why yours? So, because this is where all the magic of chamber cinema lies, here you cannot but differentiate the characters and situations with yourself, which means you will think and live everything as if you yourself are in this room. This gives rise to an amazing feeling of interactivity of what is happening on the screen, even if (contrary to the illusion) the script has already been written. Again, I went from the particular to the general ...
Let's summarize.
I hope that I have interested you (reading this) in this genre, and I want to offer my selection of chamber films:
The Massacre (2011) of Interpol-wanted Roma Polanski Buried Alive (2010) with Ryan Reynolds in the grave.
"Collector" (2016) is our (in my opinion) rather high-quality attempt at chamber mono cinema.
"Lock" (2013) For Tom Hardy lovers (with a cold)
Ideal Strangers (2016) by the same Paolo Genovese.
Oh yeah, as for the "Meeting Place" 10/10
