Synopsis
The Dwarves, Bilbo and Gandalf have successfully escaped the Misty Mountains, and Bilbo has gained the One Ring. They all continue their journey to get their gold back from the Dragon, Smaug.

The Desolation of Smaug is a significant improvement over its predecessor. The film has a faster pace, more action, and more suspense. The battles, character interactions, visual effects, tone and energy are all better executed in this film. It is a thrilling and entertaining epic that makes up for the shortcomings of the first film and generates excitement for the final chapter of the trilogy.
