David Fincher is not afraid to abandon his storytelling tropes to gracefully adapt the book into this movie. Whilst having a different tone to some of his earlier works, Gone Girl still very much feels like a David Fincher movie, with the scene where Amy kills Desi Collings being one of the most chilling in cinema history. Rosamund Pike does a fantastic job as playing her character, and the same with Ben Affleck.
