Synopsis

Riko and Kane have got it all: big dreams, no respect and a fifteen grand debt. Could things get any worse? Yes! So, it’s time to man up and finally be taken serious as “Roadmen”. Once putting their heads together on various ways to make some money, they decide to rob a megastar in a nightclub toilet and hold up the local bank but things inevitably don’t go to plan!

Sumotherhood gave me a lot to think about, but not all of it was great. Adam Deacon’s comeback is bold, and there's a certain charm to his approach, especially if you've enjoyed his previous work. The film does have its funny moments, and the wild cameos, like Ed Sheeran and Jeremy Corbyn, definitely add a surprising twist. Deacon captures the urban London vibe well, and his humor, though often over-the-top, has a way of poking fun at the culture he portrays. However, the movie’s chaotic structure made it hard to stay engaged. It often feels like a collection of skits rather than a well-knit story, and while some jokes landed, others just didn’t hit the mark. The humor, at times, feels a bit forced, which takes away from the overall experience. Still, if you’re in the mood for something light and don’t mind the chaotic style, Sumotherhood can be a fun ride. It didn’t leave a strong impression on me, but it has its moments, especially for those who appreciate Deacon’s unique brand of comedy. It’s entertaining enough, but not something that stands out as particularly memorable.
